Swim Meet 101
Swim Meets are the most fun part of what we do at KRC! We hope you will make it to all of them! Smoky Mtn Invitational and the City Championship meet are where all of your swimmers hard work gets to shine. The team counts on EVERY swimmer being at these meets. Be sure you register and show up! Your team is counting on you and your swimmer will never forget it!
The summer goes fast. At the end, there is a league winner. KRC has a LONG history of holding that title! Your participation at each meet matters and helps us hang on to the title of League 1 Champs!
Most of our meets are on Tuesday nights. Warm Up times can vary, but are usually between 4:00pm and 5:00 pm for 15 minutes. Please be sure you arrive in plenty of time to check in, get settled, and be ready to warm up!
Be sure you sign up for volunteer shifts. We can not do it without you!
Upon arrival to any pool (sometimes we travel to other teams), you will check your swimmer in and check in for your volunteer shift.
Coaches will gather the swimmers for warmups. The meet starts SHORTLY after warm ups, so don't let them get away after warm ups are over!
10 and Under kids report to our round up tents in order to get lined up for their events. PLEASE be sure you have them at the tents with plenty of time to spare. You will be glad you did! Round up volunteers will walk your young swimmer to their lane and chair and hand off to clerk of course to get them to the block.
11 and older - get to the block on time!!! Do not miss your race! Those are points we can not get back.
At the end of the swim, be sure your kiddo gets fist bumps and jolly ranchers from a coach!
While you wait, enjoy the snack shack....great burgers!! Be sure to bring your chairs, tents if you want, and hydration!
There is a LARGE team tent when we are swimming at KRC.
Meets last 3-4 hours. Plan for that and DO NOT LEAVE early.
