Hello KRC Family,

We had a great first week of practice!

If you have not already done so, please take a moment to declare “yes” or “no” for your swimmer’s attendance at the Blue/Green Meet. If you already know your family’s summer schedule, you are welcome to go ahead and declare all meets now. This helps us tremendously with meet planning and reduces last-minute phone calls.

Volunteer jobs for the Blue/Green Meet are now open, and remaining meet jobs will be posted soon as final details are confirmed. The Blue/Green Meet is our intersquad meet and serves as a practice meet to help swimmers and families learn how meets run. Because of this, we need all volunteer positions filled just as we would for a regular meet.

This meet will include:
• Freestyle
• Freestyle Relay
• Backstroke
• Breaststroke
• Butterfly

Please note that volunteer shifts may appear unbalanced, but they are distributed evenly by time to get through the events not event numbers. If you are unsure about a role, please click the “i” icon next to the job title for a description.

Blue/Green Meet Tradition – Tie Dye:
We will also continue our Blue/Green Meet tie-dye tradition. Swimmers are encouraged to bring a t-shirt, socks, or another item of choice along with $5 to participate. This is part of our Smoky Mountain Invitational team theme and is always a fun team-building activity!

Donut Day Update:
We would like to clarify information regarding Donut Day and sponsorship. This is the first year we have implemented sponsorship for this event. With a larger team this season, we have learned that the sponsorship amount does not fully cover the cost of one Donut Day and certainly not all 5 Donut Days. We will re-evaluate this model for next season. For this year, there will still be a $2 cost per swimmer, which includes one donut and a choice of milk or juice. Our sponsored Donut Day will take place on July 17th, which will be the final Donut Day of the season.
